Nollywood veteran Chiwetalu Agu has delivered a strong message to those trapped in toxic unions. In a viral video, he urged people to walk away from abusive relationships instead of risking their lives in the name of love.

Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has delivered a strong message to fans trapped in abusive relationships.

In a video shared on his social media page, the actor advised them to prioritise their safety.

Agu said:
“Don’t die to save a relationship, instead kill the relationship to save your life. Love shouldn’t come at the cost of your life.”

His words quickly drew reactions online.
One user commented: “He spoke the truth, though not easy to heed in reality…”
Another added: “Na who dey alive dey do relationship. Staying alive is the key, no allow yeye love make you kpai.”

Born in 1956 in Enugu State, Agu is widely loved for his witty expressions in Nollywood films. He also won the 2012 Nollywood Award for Best Actor in an Indigenous Movie.
