Manchester United continued their strong start to the Premier League Summer Series with an emphatic 4–1 win over Bournemouth at a rain-soaked Soldier Field in Chicago on Wednesday.

Højlund opened the scoring just eight minutes into the game, perfectly timing his run to meet Dorgu’s inviting cross from the left, nodding a precise header beyond Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

The impressive Dorgu doubled the lead in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a quick, lofted free-kick from Mason Mount. He powered into the box and calmly slotted the ball under the onrushing Petrovic to make it 2–0.

Diallo extended United’s advantage early in the second half, scrambling home a loose ball in the 53rd minute. With 20 minutes left to play, Amorim rang the changes, bringing on nine substitutes including young Ethan Williams.

The 18-year-old made an immediate impact, curling a composed low finish into the bottom corner just two minutes after entering the pitch, putting United 4–0 ahead.

United’s near-perfect performance was marred only by an 88th-minute own goal from Matthijs de Ligt, handing Bournemouth a late consolation.

Elsewhere in Chicago, West Ham came from behind to defeat Everton 2–1 in another Premier League friendly. Idrissa Gueye gave Everton the lead in the 17th minute, but Lucas Paquetá levelled just before half-time. Germany international Niclas Füllkrug secured the win for the Hammers with a 64th-minute strike.

It marked another frustrating result for David Moyes’s Everton, who had been comfortably beaten 3–0 by Bournemouth earlier in the tournament.

“I’m not overly concerned,” Moyes said after the game. “We don’t have the players we need right now. We knew before arriving in the U.S. that we were going to be up against it.”

“At the moment, we’re just not ready to compete in this tournament or to start the Premier League season,” he added.

The Premier League Summer Series concludes in Atlanta on Sunday, with Manchester United set to face Everton, and West Ham taking on Bournemouth in the final round of fixtures.
