Hello Sunday: Soft Music, Sweet Rice & Zero Stress

Whether you’re back from service or praying quietly at home, Sundays are made for soul care. Light a candle. Play your favorite worship songs. Reflect on the past week. Make gentle plans. Speak peace over your life. You’re doing just fine.

It is popular opinion that Sunday lunch always hits different. Maybe it’s the age-old combo of rice and fried plantain, the smoky aroma of jollof, or the classic pounded yam and egusi. If you really want to enjoy your soft, sweet Sunday, remember, there’s no shame in outsourcing lunch. Whether it’s a fine dining treat, your favorite buka joint, or even garri and fish, do what makes your stomach smile.

Not forget the legendary 3pm nap that “I’ll just rest for five minutes” moment that turns into a full sleep cycle. You wake up when the sun’s low, feeling like you’ve travelled through time. Honestly, you know you’re Nigerian if you say ‘I’m just resting small’ and end up sleeping till 6pm, embrace it. Your body (and Monday) will thank you.

So, here’s to good food, soft rest, and sweet laughter.

Happy Sunday, Ondo Town. Rest well. Laugh loudly. Eat proudly.
