Ondo Police Uncover Baby Factory, Rescue Five Pregnant Girls in Ore

According to reports, the case was transferred from the Ore Division to the Command’s Gender-Based Violence Unit, where a thorough investigation is currently underway.

The operation was triggered on October 21, 2025, at about 7:50 a.m, when a 17-year-old girl identified as Vivian Peter from Ikot Ekpan, Akwa Ibom State, reported that she had been trafficked to Ore under the guise of being offered employment.

Upon arrival, Vivian was taken to what appeared to be a clinic but was later discovered to be a baby factory where several other pregnant girls were being held for exploitation. She told investigators that the operator of the facility, a woman identified as Ada Clement, instructed that she be taken to another hospital in Ore for a medical scan. Vivian managed to escape and sought refuge at the Ore Division, where she reported the incident to the police.

Acting swiftly on her complaint, operatives from the Ore Division, in collaboration with the Command’s Gender Unit, raided the facility and rescued five pregnant girls and a baby boy. One of the victims, who had already delivered, is currently receiving medical care at the General Hospital in Ore, while the others are under police protection.

Preliminary findings revealed that the prime suspect, Ada Clement, and her accomplices confessed to running the baby factory. The victims were kept at the facility until childbirth, after which their babies were sold to individuals seeking children.

Investigators discovered that a male child was sold for ₦600,000 or more, while a female child went for ₦400,000 and above.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, ordered a discreet and comprehensive investigation to ensure that all members of the syndicate are arrested and prosecuted. He confirmed that detectives are currently tracking the fleeing members of the group.

CP Lawal reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to enforcing the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, stressing that the Nigeria Police Force remains determined to combat human trafficking, baby factories, child exploitation, and all forms of gender-based violence.

He assured the public that the Command would continue to protect vulnerable persons and bring all offenders involved in such criminal acts to justice. The police noted that further details will be made available as the investigation progresses.
