INEC Records 26,000 Visits on CVR Portal Hours After Launch

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that over 26,000 Nigerians visited its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) portal within hours of the exercise opening on Monday. By 12:35 p.m., the number of hits on the online platform, www.cvr.inecnigeria.org, had risen to 26,255.

Announcing the development through its official X handle, the commission urged citizens to take advantage of the process. “Hits on the Continuous Voter Registration portal climb to 26,255 as at 12:35 p.m. today, Monday, August 18, 2025. Register Now,” it stated.

While online pre-registration has gone live, the physical registration exercise is scheduled to commence nationwide on August 25, 2025, at all 37 state offices and 774 local government area offices to ensure accessibility for prospective voters.

INEC explained that the CVR is open to Nigerians who have turned 18 and never registered, as well as those wishing to update their details, transfer their polling units, or replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). It warned against multiple registrations, stressing that violators risk facing legal consequences.
