OEYC Seeks Stronger Ties with Ondo Govt, Visits Youth and Sports Commissioner

The Ondo Ekimogun Youth Congress (OEYC), under the leadership of its President, Engineer Kayode Folajogun, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, paid a courtesy and familiarization visit to the Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Segun Omoyofunmi.

Speaking during the visit, Engineer Folajogun explained that the purpose of the engagement was to foster strong collaboration with the commissioner, thereby ensuring the effective execution of the ministry’s youth and sports development programmes. He stressed the importance of reshaping the narrative by engaging young people and providing an enabling environment that would make them more productive and impactful.

The OEYC Sports Director, Comrade Olabode Fadoju, also briefed the commissioner on the body’s sporting initiatives and notable achievements. He further presented recommendations focused on infrastructural development, talent discovery, and youth empowerment.

In his response, Commissioner Omoyofunmi commended the OEYC leadership for their foresight and readiness to partner with the government. He reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment and the advancement of sports in Ondo State.

“The youths today are fortunate to have a youth-friendly governor at the helm of affairs. From the blast of the whistle, his dedication to transforming the youth narrative has been evident to all” Omoyofunmi stated.

He added, “With inclusivity as a guiding principle, Governor Ayedatiwa has consistently appointed young people into strategic positions in the state. I assure the OEYC of maximum support and partnership as we work together to drive initiatives that will empower, engage, and inspire the next generation of leaders”.
