Tinubu Launches Massive $3 Billion Welfare & Development Programs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally unveiled five major federal social intervention and infrastructure initiatives aimed at cushioning economic pressures and building human capital:

NG-CARES Additional Financing ($1.25 Billion): A World Bank-backed initiative targeting smallholder farmers and small-to-medium businesses.

HOPE Program ($1.5 Billion): Flagship investments directed toward improving primary healthcare (HOPE-PHC), foundational public education (HOPE-EDU), and local ward-level governance (HOPE-GOV).

SOLID Program ($300 Million): Dedicated to supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and their host communities with infrastructure and sustainable livelihoods.

Tinubu emphasized that while macro-economic indicators (like foreign reserves rising past $50 billion) are improving, these programs are designed to ensure recovery is felt directly in every household.
