President Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Cutting Short 10-Day Leave in Europe

The Airbus A330 conveying the President touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 6:50 p.m. local time.

Tinubu, who left Nigeria on September 4, was originally expected to remain in Europe until later this week. No official reason was given for his early return.

His arrival coincides with the expiration of the six-month emergency rule in oil-rich Rivers State, which ends on Thursday.

Since January 2025, the 73-year-old President has embarked on 15 foreign trips, often blending official engagements with periods of rest. His last known holiday was in April when he spent about 14 working days in Paris and London.
