BASKETBALL FEDERATION DEVELOPMENT UPDATE HERE IN NIGERIA

Restore trust: Address complaints about the election and build working relationships with rival candidates, state associations and other stakeholders.
Resolve outstanding governance questions: Follow the court case and obtain clarity over international board representation.
Deliver visible improvements: Establish clear plans for domestic leagues, grassroots development, facilities and player welfare.
Nigeria already has a strong international profile through its women’s national team, D’Tigress. The challenge is to ensure that the domestic structure consistently develops talent and supports both men’s and women’s basketball. The major story is a change of leadership at the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). Dr Mustapha Abdullahi has won the presidency, but the federation now faces pressure to unite stakeholders, resolve election-related disputes and turn its development promises into practical results.
