Hilda Baci Sets Sights on New World Record with 250-Bag Jollof Rice Cookout

Former Guinness World Record (GWR) holder for marathon cooking, Hilda Baci, has unveiled plans to set another milestone—this time with the largest pot of jollof rice ever cooked.

In a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, the celebrity chef announced that she will be preparing 250 bags of basmati rice in a massive pot measuring 22,619 litres. The pot, she explained, spans six meters in width, stands 1.1 meters tall and is 1.3 meters deep.

“I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice. The pot is six meters wide by six meters wide, 1.1 meters tall, and about 1.3 meters deep. I’m sure the pot is not going to sink” she said in the video.

The cookout, scheduled for September 12, 2025, is expected to serve at least 10,000 people.

This ambitious attempt comes two years after Baci captured global attention by cooking for 93 hours and 11 minutes, setting the record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
