SundayReflections: God Never Rejects His Own

There’s something deeply comforting about waking up on a Sunday and realizing that no matter how far we’ve drifted, God still hasn’t turned His back on us. It’s easy to think that our flaws, our mistakes and the times we fell short have made us unworthy but the truth is, grace doesn’t expire. We replay mistakes like a broken record and convince ourselves that maybe, just maybe, God has finally given up on us. But the truth is simpler and more beautiful: God never rejects His own.

We live in a world that often judges by performance, where one wrong move can lead to rejection. But with God, it’s different. His love isn’t based on perfection; it’s based on relationship. You might have missed prayers all week, said words you shouldn’t have or even doubted your faith but God doesn’t give up on His own. He’s the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one. And maybe today, that one is you.

Sometimes, life gets so loud that we drift away without realizing it. We stop praying because we feel distant. We stop showing up because we think we’ve disappointed Him. He’s still there, patient, present and waiting. Just like the father in the parable of the prodigal son, He runs toward us the moment we turn around, arms wide open, no questions asked.

Every Sunday is a quiet reminder that we are never too far gone for His mercy. When life feels messy, He doesn’t walk away; He steps in. He meets us in our weakness, not to condemn us but to remind us that we’re still His, flaws, scars and all.

As we step into a new week, let this be your anchor: God doesn’t reject His own — He restores them. So rise again, knowing His arms are still open and His plans for you are still good.
