Tinubu to Attend TICAD9 in Japan, Embark on State Visit to Brazil

President Bola Tinubu will make a brief stop in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before proceeding to Japan for the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga has announced.

According to Onanuga, the conference will take place in Yokohama from August 20 to 22, where President Tinubu is expected to participate in plenary sessions covering key themes of the summit. He will also hold bilateral talks and engage with chief executives of Japanese companies with existing or potential investments in Nigeria.

Following the conclusion of TICAD9, the President will travel to Brasilia, Brazil, for a two-day state visit from Sunday, August 24, to Monday, August 25, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. While in Brazil, Tinubu will hold high-level bilateral discussions with his host and attend a business forum designed to strengthen economic ties and attract new investments.
