Dangote Refinery to Begin Free Petrol Supply, Slashes Pump Price

Dangote Refinery to Begin Free Petrol Supply, Slashes Pump Price

In a post shared on its official X handle on Thursday, the refinery disclosed that retail petrol prices have been slashed to N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, while motorists in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers and Delta states will pay N851 per litre.

As part of the new supply strategy, Dangote Refinery confirmed it will roll out a free delivery scheme, beginning with 11 states and later expanding nationwide.

“All petrol station owners across the country are invited to register for free delivery and other benefits,” the statement read.

The move follows the refinery’s earlier announcement on June 15, when it confirmed the acquisition of 4,000 new compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered tankers, with a target of deploying 10,000 CNG-powered trucks by the end of the year. According to Dangote Refinery, the investment is aimed at improving logistics efficiency and reducing the overall cost of fuel distribution across Nigeria.

The development marks a significant step in the refinery’s effort to stabilise petrol supply and make prices more affordable for Nigerians.
