El-Rufai Vows to Join Forces with Atiku, Opposition Leaders to Unseat Tinubu, APC in 2027

Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has declared that he and other opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, possess the political capacity to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on a Channels Television programme on Sunday, El-Rufai stated that his deep involvement in the formation of the APC gives him insight into the party’s vulnerabilities.

“We formed the APC; we know where the dead body is buried. Some of them, like Atiku, know where the PDP’s dead body is buried. Together we can face the APC. We don’t need to bring in totally different people from nowhere to challenge APC,” he said.

El-Rufai also criticized the current administration, lamenting that both the economy and national security have worsened under President Tinubu’s leadership.

He further noted that he, Atiku, former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, and other political figures have recently aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a coalition aimed at challenging and unseating President Tinubu in 2027.
