Aiyedatiwa Reaffirms Commitment to Road Projects, Attributes Ondo’s Peace to Divine Grace

Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has assured residents that all ongoing road construction projects across the state will be completed as scheduled despite temporary delays caused by the rainy season.

The governor gave the assurance on Sunday night at the Sound of Grace Concert held at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park, Akure, where he also attributed the prevailing peace in the state to divine grace and the collective faith of its people.

“These are not quick-fix projects. The contractors are on site and they will deliver. We only need patience,” Aiyedatiwa said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to quality service, transparency, and inclusive governance.

“This government belongs to you. You voted for it and you can claim it. You only put me here to serve you and service I will give,” he declared.

The governor, who joined thousands of worshippers at the concert, described the gathering as a powerful display of gratitude, saying Ondo’s harmony and progress are evidence of divine favour. “When a man honours a vow made to God, heaven responds,” he added.

The Sound of Grace Concert was organised by Opeyemi Idiowo, Chief Executive Officer of G-Sound, as a fulfilment of a vow he made to God twenty-five years ago following a childhood disappointment that birthed his lifelong mission.

Aiyedatiwa commended Idiowo for his perseverance and dedication, describing him as “a man who turned adversity into purpose.” He praised the sound engineer’s consistency and professionalism, noting that G-Sound had handled his campaign events using only locally made sound systems.

“Everything used tonight was made here in Akure. This is what it means to believe in our people. When we build locally, we grow together” the governor said.

He also expressed appreciation to the church community for its continuous prayers, noting that their intercession has sustained peace and unity in the state. “Ondo State remains one of the most peaceful in the country because the church is standing in the gap, praying for the government and our people,” he stated.

Earlier, Idiowo shared the story behind the concert, recounting how he once prayed for divine provision after a failed worship event. “I said, ‘Your people are disappointed because there is no equipment, but if You can give me this equipment, I will use it to glorify You.’ That disappointment, the devil will pay for it,” he said.

He added that the concert marked the fulfilment of that vow, emphasising that all equipment used were locally produced in Akure. “Everything you see here is from Akure, not from outside. Akure is a blessed land. God has been faithful. Nothing is lost, nothing is broken,” he declared.
