Opposition Sparks Debate Over FG’s Petrol Price Cap

Opposition parties and political figures have reacted to the Federal Government’s decision to institute a 30-day fuel price cap (N1,350/litre) at NNPC outlets.

 Atiku Abubakar’s Camp & Seyi Makinde’s Camp: Dismissed the price reduction as a “panic-driven publicity stunt” aimed at quelling economic dissatisfaction rather than delivering sustainable reform.  

 Rotimi Amaechi & Other Critics: Argued that temporary discounts fail to address the core inflationary pressures facing citizens and demanded broader systemic policy adjustments.
