Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has achieved another historic milestone as Guinness World Records officially recognised her for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

In a post shared on its official X account, Guinness World Records confirmed: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”

The record-breaking feat took place on September 12, 2025, during the Gino World Jollof Festival held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The grand culinary event attracted thousands of attendees and dominated social media conversations across Nigeria and beyond.

Hilda Baci, who rose to international fame in 2023 after setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has once again cemented her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.

The festival drew notable personalities including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all of whom came out to support Baci’s latest record-setting achievement.

This new Guinness World Record not only highlights Hilda Baci’s culinary excellence but also reinforces Nigeria’s global recognition for its most iconic dish, jollof rice.
