Top Kano APC Leaders Back President Tinubu for 2027 Re-Election, Reaffirm Loyalty to Ganduje

The endorsement was made during a strategic, high-level meeting convened on Tuesday at Ganduje’s residence in Kano. According to reports, the gathering was aimed at consolidating the party’s internal strength, resolving lingering disputes, and planning for future political contests, particularly the 2027 polls.

Central to the discussions were the party’s electoral preparedness, ongoing developmental efforts by President Tinubu’s administration in Northern Nigeria especially Kano and a renewed push for unity within the APC fold.

Speaking at the meeting, the Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, emphasized the importance of fortifying the party’s internal cohesion to outpace its political rivals in the coming years.

“We are fully committed to the continued success of President Tinubu and our great party,” Abbas said. “This meeting is about consolidating our base, strengthening unity, and positioning the APC for a decisive victory in 2027.”

He further noted that the party remains open to reconciliation and growth. In a bold political overture, Abbas stated that the APC is ready to welcome members of the opposition Kwankwasiyya movement, if they choose to cross over.

“If members of the Kwankwasiyya movement are willing to join us, they will be received. However, should they choose to remain in opposition, we will meet them squarely at the ballot box,” he declared.

Party leaders also used the occasion to defend the Tinubu administration against accusations of bias in the distribution of federal projects. They pointed to several key infrastructure and development initiatives currently underway across the North, with Kano State being a notable beneficiary. The leaders commended President Tinubu’s inclusive governance approach and pledged to amplify public awareness of these achievements.

The meeting attracted an array of APC heavyweights, including former Kano governorship candidate Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory Dr. Mariya Bunkure, Senator Kawu Sumaila, and federal lawmakers such as Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, and Sani Bala Tsanyawa. Also in attendance were members of the Kano State House of Assembly, top federal appointees from the state, and several senior party officials.

Collectively, attendees agreed on a strategic roadmap to maintain APC’s political dominance in Kano State while working to secure victories for the party in both state and federal elections in 2027.
