Tensions Rise Following Disruption of Peter Obi’s Convoy

Incidents in Benue: Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi had his convoy blocked by local youths while attempting to visit Yelewata, Benue State.  

 State vs. Opposition Claims: The Benue State Government accused Obi of “seeking political trouble,” while commentators and political activist Omoyele Sowore alleged the state government coordinated the obstruction. Meanwhile, Obi reiterated calls for the Federal Government to secure local communities and assist internally displaced persons.
